Stemming from Broadway Actress Sharone Sayegh’s true family’s journey, The Goldsmith is a treasury of stories woven through the golden jewelry passed down through her family, across borders, cultures, and generations. Each piece of jewelry takes us further along her family’s journey from Iraq to Israel, and then to America, where Sharone grapples for love as a first- generation Iraqi, Israeli, American.
As she wrestles with identity, belonging, multiplicity of self, and acceptance, this solo play moves, surprises, and inspires the audience to investigate the stories and legacies with which we adorn ourselves throughout our lives.

SHARONE SAYEGH (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary theater artist in NYC. As an actor on Broadway she originated the role of Anna in The Band’s Visit (OBC), played Bonnie in Come From Away, Maxine Dean/Juno in Beetlejuice , and made her debut in Mamma Mia!. She has performed, written, directed, and produced Off-Broadway and regionally, having worked at some of the country’s most prestigious theaters including The Atlantic, Playwrights Horizons, Ars Nova, La Jolla Playhouse, Prospect Theater Co, Westport Country Playhouse, and The Muny. She has appeared on Television in Law & Order, Instinct, and Limitless. She is a 2024 ‘The Workshop’ fellow, the co-writer of the new musical The Game Boy, and is currently writing The Goldsmith, a solo play stemming from her family’s true stories, across borders, cultures, and generations. ZACHARY PRINCE is honored to join Sharone Sayegh in bringing her beautiful and deeply personal story to the stage. He last Directed and co-developed actor/comedian Stephen Brower’s Palatable Gay Robot, a genre-bending , one-man show that Playbill calls, “complex, hilarious, and human,” and Entertainment Now says, “stretches the bounds of what a one-man show can be”. Robot recently completed a successful North American Tour. (Playbill Pick, Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023). As an actor, Zachary was last seen in the world premiere of Joan at South Coast Rep and Barrington Stage Company. AVI AMON is a Turkish-American composer and sound artist. Theatre work includes music, songs, and sound design for projects with: Ars Nova, The Kennedy Center, New York Theater Workshop, The Old Globe, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, PAC NYC, Page73, Signature Theater, The Public, and Waterwell. Avi’s film scores have been featured at Cannes, Disney, DOCNYC, HBO, Hulu, Slamdance, SWSX, Tribeca, and 2024 Venice Film Festival. Avi’s score for the documentary EVERYTHING YOU HAVE IS YOURS is available on all streaming platforms and MOTHER/ROAD, a multimedia performance piece exploring grief & memory, will premiere at The Shed in 2026. Avi is a MacDowell Fellow and has received additional support from the Jonathan Larson Grant, Berkeley REP, Dramatists Guild, Mercury Store, New Music USA, and The O’Neill National Music Theater Conference, among others.
